Meet Parts Advisor Chip McIntosh

If you’ve been following our socials @bmwofbridgeport, you’ve probably seen Chip. When you have a parts guy who’s equal parts knowledge and personality, you put him to work in more ways than one. Chip is a Connecticut native from New Canaan and says the real reason he got into cars was his dad. His father owned 3- and 5-series BMWs, and Chip tells us he really didn’t know any other brand growing up.

“The performance, the torque, the handling – being able to negotiate the world while driving – they’re the best,” he says. This love led Chip to study what made cars work, eventually becoming a BMW technician for 15 years before he transferred to the parts department, where he both works with the service department and sees our customers every day.

“I like the industrial design, the efficiencies,” he tells us. “The little mechanical details they improve with every generation.”

He says the technician’s work flows naturally into parts knowledge and helping everyone find what they need.

“I want the customer to feel like they want to come back to BMW of Bridgeport again. That’s the reason we’re here: every question is welcome.”

When Chip’s not at work answering questions you may see him at the beach with his wife and son, at hockey games and concerts, or just getting out into non-mechanized nature with his dogs.
